first day with Penny, Cotswolds in the freezing rain

My dear British friends:
goodbye to Nicola, hello to Penny

Lunch in Cirencester - a baked potato
stuffed with tuna fish. It sounds odd and it doesn't look great, but it was the best damn baked potato. Definitely not in France any more.

"This isn't a cathedral," said the verger in Cirencester. "It's just the parish church. It's a big one, though."

The streets of Cheltenham, where we're spending the night, were
flooded with 14-year old dollies in skimpy clothing. on their way to a club opening. It was cold and raining, and I was wearing five layers - seriously - and a hat.

Dinner at Jamie Oliver's Italian place
in Cheltenham. Fresh fettucine with eggplant. Divine.

Okay okay enough with the food already.
